Matilda lives with her parents and older brother who overlook her hyper-intelligence, wit, and later, her powers. Bullied by the tyrannical headmistress Agatha Trunchbull, Matilda finds refuge in books and stories, empowered by her librarian, Mrs Phelps, and kind teacher, Miss Honey. Using her intellect and strong willpower, Matilda fights against the oppressive adults in her world with the help of her friends.

We have been working hard with the students from Ipswich High School’s Musical Theatre Academy to put together this exciting young people’s stage adaptation of Roald Dahl’s ‘Matilda’.

Come along to watch this incredible group tell this story through their strong, comedic and wholesome characters written by Roald Dahl and adapted by Dennis Kelly and songs written by Tim Minchin.
